About Holiday Calendar

Holiday Calendar is a free reference that lists public holidays, bank holidays and international observances for every country and territory in the world. It answers a simple question — who is off on a given day, and why — in one searchable place.

You can browse holidays by country, by year, by calendar date, or search by holiday name. Each holiday keeps its English name and, where available, the local-language name, so you can match what you see here with local announcements.

The site is part of a small network of independent reference projects. It runs on free public data, with no account required and no content behind a paywall.

Data sources and accuracy

Holiday data comes from Date.Nager, an open dataset built from public government announcements and community contributions, licensed CC BY 4.0. Holiday dates — especially religious and local ones — are occasionally revised by governments at short notice. We re-import annually, but you should always confirm critical dates (visa runs, shipping deadlines, school terms) with the relevant official government source before relying on them.
