How it works
Easter Sunday is the first Sunday after the first full moon that falls on or after the spring equinox (21 March). The exact calculation is the "computus", an algorithm used by the Christian churches.
Because it depends on the lunar calendar, Easter moves between 22 March and 25 April. The following dates are derived directly from Easter:
- Ash Wednesday: 46 days before Easter
- Palm Sunday: 7 days before Easter
- Good Friday: 2 days before Easter
- Easter Monday: 1 day after Easter
- Ascension: 39 days after Easter
- Pentecost: 49 days after Easter
